Tara is from Southern California, grew up in the Chicago suburbs, and later moved to Las Vegas. She holds a Bachelor’s in K–12 Art Education and a Master’s in Education and Technology. She taught high school photography for 10 years and elementary art for 3. After 20 years in Vegas, Tara and her husband moved to Minneapolis in 2017 and have called it home since.

A lifelong animal lover, Tara loved her dogs into their teen years - Tito, Kiki, and Lemmy, her favorite walking buddy. After losing Lemmy, joining Betsy and These Paws’ team felt like the perfect way to honor him. In her free time, Tara enjoys art, reading, and live music with her husband.
